Meet Our Therapists

Grant  Butler
MA,  LMHC-A

My name is Grant Butler. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHC-A). I have an undergraduate degree in clinical addictions counseling and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and clinical addictions counseling, both from Indiana Wesleyan University. I have a strong passion for helping and serving the community. I am encouraging and accepting of diversity. I believe that therapy is for everyone and is also a form of self-care and preservation. A positive and successful experience in therapy relies heavily on the therapeutic alliance and bond experienced between a counselor and the client. My approach to therapy is to meet the client where they are at and walk alongside them to assist in building the tools and techniques helpful in overcoming adverse circumstances and experiences within life. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotion-focused Therapy (EFT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to counsel clients who have experienced or are experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use disorders, and trauma from mental, emotional, or sexual abuse.

Ashley Boester-Dean
PhD, HSPP

Hello! I’m Ashley, and I’m a Licensed Psychologist in Indiana. I have been practicing therapy since 2005 and have happily settled into private practice since 2018. I highly value the therapeutic relationship and strive to create a warm, safe, and authentic environment where trust can be built together. I work from a variety of insight-oriented approaches but mainly use interpersonal processing, person-centered, and cognitive behavioral therapies. I strive to use a culturally sensitive framework to understand each client’s unique life and experiences. My hope is to help clients empower themselves to understand themselves better and make the positive changes they want to see in their lives. My areas of clinical focus include depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, PTSD, domestic violence, abuse, sexual assault, women’s issues, and perinatal mental health issues (including fertility challenges, pregnancy and infant loss, postpartum depression, and more). I completed my MA in Community Counseling at Loyola University Chicago and my PhD in Counseling Psychology at Ball State University. When I’m not working, you can usually find me reading, baking, or playing with my kids.

Grace Trinidad
MA, LMHC-A

Hello. My name is Grace Trinidad and I am an associate licensed mental health counselor, working my way to full licensure! I graduated from Ball State with a masters degree in clinical mental health counseling in 2019 and have been practicing ever since.

To be a helper and a healer is what gives my life meaning. No matter your background, your race, gender, sexuality, or spirituality, it is my goal to be a safe and healing person for you.

I’m a bit weird, sometimes dark humored, and a bit unorthodox, but it is important to me to be down to earth and authentically myself with you, and for you to feel comfortable doing the same. I want us to form an honest and open therapeutic relationship that is focused on meeting you where you are and as who you are, and helping you get where you want to be.

While I tend to pull from many different modalities of therapy (i.e. Empowerment, CBT, TFCBT, CPT), I perceive therapy from an interpersonal and existential-humanistic view which means I want therapy to be a place for you to focus on you and for us to create a relationship that helps you grow, heal, and make meaning of your life experience.

I have worked with and want to continue helping heal and cope with a broad range of issues (i.e. depression, anxiety, BPD, OCD, and mood disorders), but my primary clinical interests are trauma, grief, and loss.

No matter why you are here or what you are dealing with, I am so proud of you for reaching out to us for help! You deserve to be here and I will do all that I can to support you.

Anthony Pacifico
MA

My name is Anthony Pacifico, and I am a second year doctoral student studying Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Couples and Families at Ball State University. I received my M.A./Ed.S. in Professional Counseling from Seton Hall University. I view therapy as a journey of exploration that is facilitated by the relationship between myself and the client. On this journey, the client and therapist work together to determine the best path to achieve success - reaching your destination. It is important that the relationship is met with genuineness, honesty, transparency, and safety. Although I work from several theories, I emphasize the importance of relational dynamics with others inside and outside of the therapy space. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, interpersonal problems, relationship distress, and couples counseling.

Dana Thomas
MA, LMHC

My name is Dana Thomas and I am a licensed mental health counselor. I got my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Ball State University. When working with clients, I strive to create a collaborative, trusting therapeutic relationship. I believe this is a vital part of helping clients achieve their goals. I try to approach therapy in a similar way that I approach life: with compassion, authenticity, a sense of humor, and a lot of hope. Though I incorporate several schools of thought into my work, I often utilize an interpersonal, existential, and culturally sensitive framework when working with clients. This means I often focus on clients' relationships, meaningful identities, and values, as well as where/how they find meaning in life. My main areas of clinical interest include trauma/abuse, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, mild substance use disorders, disordered eating, and relationship or family of origin issues.

Grace Kimmerling
PhD, HSPP

My name is Grace Kimmerling. I got my Master's Degree and PhD at Ball State University and am a licensed psychologist. I see therapy as a partnership between myself and the client. You are the expert on your own life and how you want things to be, and I'm the expert on how we can get you from point A to point B. In therapy, it is very important to me that the relationship feels safe, genuine, and helpful. I work from a variety of schools of thought but mainly see things through an attachment point of view. This means that I highly value not only our relationship, but the other relationships in your life and how you've learned to connect (or not connect) with others. I have specialized training in emotion focused therapy which helps us to explore the messages that your thoughts and emotions are trying to communicate to you. My areas of focus include couples counseling, parenting children with special needs, interpersonal problems, depression, anxiety, and trauma.

Natalie Sachs
MA

My name is Natalie Sachs (She/They) and I am a therapist finishing my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado. I earned my master's degree in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ball State University. I believe that relationships and connection are at the core of any successful counseling experience and necessary for healing. I approach therapy from an interpersonal, multiculturally- focused, and values-based approach.

As your therapist, I strive to create an open and collaborative space to help you get what you need from therapy, a focus on your identities, and an emphasis on resilience and growth. I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and an ally and advocate for trans* folx. My main areas of clinical focus include LGBTQIA+ concerns, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, and family-of-origin issues.
